Introducing our new Digital Marketing Consultant

Welcoming our new apprentice, Abi Else.

We are pleased to welcome our new apprentice Abi to the Jumpstart team. Abi joined us a little over a month ago and has become our Digital Marketing Consultant. Already, Abi has a background in digital media as she has a diploma in Digital Arts. However, she will now be working towards her diploma in Digital Marketing. She is excited to expand her knowledge, learn new skills and start the career she has always wanted!

Get to know Abi:

What’s your history with digital media and marketing?

I have always been interested in art. This turned digital when my sister started to study graphic design and got hold of an old version of Photoshop. I was about 10 years old when I used to make Bebo (Bebo was a social network profile, a bit like Facebook) backgrounds for myself and my friends using my sister’s Photoshop (they were a bit like Youtube banners and blog headers nowadays). That’s probably what kickstarted my interest in digital media and in general, the digital world. I then began to learn about it in high school, and this is when I started to take an interest in advertisement and marketing.

Why did you want to be a Digital Marketing Apprentice?

I debated university for a short while, but I had always been set on going to college then straight in to a job. I’ve worked two jobs in retail, one whilst in college – where I obtained my Level 3 Extended Diploma in Digital Arts. I then took a few months working full time hunting around for a job in Digital Marketing. However, most jobs nowadays are really looking for the experience rather then the qualification, and that’s why I thought an apprenticeship was the most appropriate. Plus I can learn and earn!

What will you be doing whilst at Jumpstart?

I am Jumpstart’s Digital Marketing Consultant. Therefore I will be handling Jumpstart’s marketing, mostly their social media, their blog, their monthly newsletters and so on.

How has working for Jumpstart been so far?

I’ve loved it! It feels so great to enjoy the job I am in and be in a job that I have always wanted to do. I’ve learnt loads already and I can’t wait to learn more.

What hobbies outside of work do you enjoy?

Outside of work I love going to the cinema and watching movies. A few of my favourites are; The Dark Knight trilogy, any Marvel film and the Divergent series. I also watch waaaaaay too many TV series’, I love anything from Louis Theroux’s documentaries to Pretty Little Liars and Gossip Girl. In addition, I create videos on Youtube. I make beauty, advice and lifestyle vlogs (video-blogs).
